The  Fundació Salut i Envelliment UAB (Health and Ageing   Foundation of the Autonomous University of Barcelona) is a non-profit    organization, resulting from the merger between the Fundació Institut   Català de l'Envelliment, the Fundació Dr. Robert, Centre de Formació   Avançada en Ciències de la Salut i de la Vida, and the Fundació   Biblioteca Josep Laporte, Centre de Documentació en Ciències de la Salut   i de la Vida. The Foundation conducts activities in the fields of health   sciences, ageing and social and health care. These activities are   carried out through 5 organizational areas: Research in Health and   Ageing, Citizens and Patients, Professional Development, Consultancy and   Ageing Projects and Knowledge Management.

Kick off of the SITLESS project

May 1st marked the official  start of the SITLESS project: Exercise Referral Schemes enhanced by Self-Management Strategies to battle sedentary behaviour. SITLESS is an initiative that is funded by the European Comission (grant 634270) within the Horizon 2020 programme, with the participation of seven partners from six countries.

The Fundació Salut i Envelliment sets off

On October 15th, 2014, the setting up of the new foundation (Fundació Salut i Envelliment de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) has been completed, as a result of the fusion process of three of the existing UAB foundations (Fundació Doctor Robert, Fundació Josep Laporte and Fundació Institut Català de l'Envelliment).
